Score 92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2013

(picked at 22.5 Brix and made with 50% whole clusters; 25% new oak): Bright red. Raspberry and cherry on the highly fragrant nose, with a candied rose quality adding complexity. Sweet, penetrating red berry and candied rose flavors show impressive clarity and energy thanks to vibrant acidity. Silky tannins add grip to the spicy, appealingly sweet and very persistent finish. Packs a serious punch for such a graceful wine.
