The 2018 Côte Rôtie Côte Bodin has a certain Burgundian-like purity as well as texture, and it’s one of the more up-front wines in the series. Offering up darker fruits (black raspberries, blackberries) as well as some toasted spice, cured meats, and pepper, it’s supple, medium to full-bodied, and elegant. This cuvée is all destemmed and brought up in used barrels.

Located just below Leyat on the Côte Brune, the 2018 Cote Rotie Cote Bodin is more red-fruited and even hints at dried herbs, with red raspberries and mint notes balanced by notes of black olives. Medium to full-bodied, it's concentrated, tannic and firm, but with a long, silky-textured finish. Give it at least a few years in the cellar.
