Tasting notes
The 1998 Pinot Noir Montgomery Vineyard could easily have emerged from Morey-St.-Denis or Gevrey-Chambertin given its meaty, powerful, plum-scented, spicy, complex aromatics. A dark ruby color is accompanied by a sweet bouquet, and ripe, concentrated, pure flavors. Medium to full-bodied, with no hard edges, this is a complex, seductive Pinot Noir to enjoy over the next 4-5 years. This offering is a Burgundian-styled, remarkably complex Pinot Noir of compelling interest. Bravo! Tel. (707) 431-2160

Amber-edged medium red. Rather autumnal aromas of redcurrant, tobacco and earth. Juicy and penetrating but on the lean side. Flavors seems rather evolved and could use more sweetness. Finishes with slightly drying tannins.
