Score 86/100 · Drink 2003, Robert Parker, Jan 2000

The 1997 Pinot Noir Beckstoffer-Las Amigas Vineyard (one of the oldest Carneros vineyards at 35 years of age) exhibits a dark ruby color, but has a tart acid profile that keeps the texture compressed and the wine inaccessible. It also tends to exacerbate the tannin level, but there is plenty of good cherry and strawberry fruit behind the acid structure. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. Tel.
