Medium red. Smoky, herb-kissed redcurrant and cherry on the nose, with nervy minerality adding energy. Clean and brisk, with lively red fruit flavors, tangy mineral lift and an exotic blood orange quality on the finish. I really like the clarity and finesse of this elegant, light-bodied (13.5% alcohol) pinot.

The single vineyard 2005 Pinot Noir La Encantada Vineyard exhibits a dark ruby color along with a big, spicy, plum, cherry, and earthy-scented perfume with hints of roasted herbs and wood in the background. A soft entry on the palate offers deep fruit, an elegant style, impressive purity and ripeness, and good overall harmony. Enjoy it over the next 5-6 years. Tel. (805) 688-9090; Fax (805) 688-9001
