The 2013 Pinot Noir Barrel Select is deep, dense and powerful, but it is also marked by astringent tannins that clamp down on the fruit and give the wine a lean, compact feel.

Mostly destemmed (75%) and seeing 25% new French oak, the 2013 Pinot Noir Barrel Select comes from the la Encantada Vineyard and is equal parts 667 and 777 clones. It shows straight-up classic Pinot Noir aromas and flavors of strawberries, raspberries, spice-box and dried flowers, with medium-bodied richness, no hard edges and a supple, seamlessness that keeps you coming back to the glass. This beauty is loaded with character and should evolve gracefully over the coming 6-8 years.
