An exotic profile of blood orange, spice, crushed flowers and red berries struggle to emerge from the 2013 Pinot Noir Clone 115 La Encantada Vineyard. Sadly, this austere Pinot offers limited depth and complexity.

Brought up in 20% new French oak, the 2013 Pinot Noir la Encantada Vineyard Clone 115 is bright and juicy, with edgy acidity giving lift to notions of black cherries, juicy strawberry, sappy flower and a touch of leather. It has plenty of fruit, but needs a year in bottle to really flesh out. I suspect it will evolve for a decade.
