Tasting notes
Violets, plums, incense and potpourri all emerge from the full-bodied, supple and downright sexy 2013 Syrah Melville Vineyard. Lifted, perfumed and complex, with no hard edges, it's certainly the most approachable and textured of the Syrahs from Chad. Drink it anytime over the coming 7-8 years. This release saw one-third whole clusters and the standard two years in neutral barrels.

Quite surprisingly, the 2013 Syrah Melville Vineyard tastes like it was picked very ripe, and yet the tannins are quite aggressive. Today, the Melville comes across as harsh, with unpolished tannins and elevated alcohol, none of which are typical of the SAMsARA wines. The 2013 was done with 50% whole clusters.
