Score 88-91/100 · Drink 2010, Robert Parker, Aug 1999

This offering is well-balanced, with nicely integrated acidity, alcohol, and tannin. Not surprisingly, the 1997 Barbaresco exhibits an opaque purple color, and overripe, cherry, blackberry, smoky, oaky aromas. The wine is fleshy, with excellent richness, and a low acid, succulently-textured finish. Anticipated maturity: now-2010. No known American importer.
