(sauvignon blanc; this is essentially the press wine from the sauvignon that was earmarked to be the '06 La Severita di Bruto, fermented separately and aged on its lees) Aromatic nose offers honeysuckle, jasmine, magnolia, tarragon and licorice. Supple and juicy, with good richness to the flavors of grapefruit pith, fresh herbs and dusty minerality. This has an attractively silky texture and good palate-staining flavor. Much less extreme in character than Schoener's other 2006 sauvignon blancs-or, rather, much less sauvignon-like-but that's not to say that it's like anything you've ever tasted before. High in pH but also fairly high in acidity, as it did not go through malolactic fermentation.
