Lurid red. Highly expressive, spice- and mineral-tinged red/blue fruit and floral aromas show outstanding clarity and hints of licorice. Earthy sassafras emerges with aeration. Juicy, seamless and appealingly sweet, offering palate-staining black raspberry and cherry liqueur flavors that deepen steadily and pick up a sexy floral pastille nuance on the back half. Fine-grained tannins build slowly and frame an impressively persistent finish that leaves behind suave violet pastille and red fruit preserve notes. This wine's blend of power and delicacy is fabulous.
