(this is actually from Chalumeaux, but, according to Etienne de Montille, back in 1977 the then-owner brought in topsoil from elsewhere and lost the right to label this fruit as premier cru) Good pale color. Fresh, subtle aromas of peach, nuts and marzipan. Densely packed but lively and minerally, with lovely lift and a light touch. Tight in the mouth and on the finish but already showing incipient complexity. Montille says this wine was more affected by the bottling than the Chassagne villages
