Score 94/100 · Drink 2023-2030, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Oct 2023

The 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma Valley comes from Sonoma Valley (65%) and Moon Mountain District (35%). It's blended with 14% Merlot and matured for 24 months in 90% new oak. "It's the only year in my career I've ever seen botrytis in Cabernet," viticulturist Phil Coturri recalls of this challenging growing season. The wine is tertiary and inviting, with a deep garnet color and layered scents of black cherry and currant, green pepper, cast iron, tobacco and mushroom. The palate is powdery and refreshing with gently herbal fruit and complex tertiary accents. It’s drinking beautifully and has another 5 to 8+ years of aging potential in the cellar. 650 cases were made.
