Red-ruby. Restrained aromas of licorice, mint and chocolatey oak. Cool, aromatic and nicely delineated, with flavors of berries, herbs and oak. Slightly dry-edged finish features substantial oak and good grip.

The 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is not nearly as good as the regular bottling, yet it costs twice as much. It reveals pleasant aromatics, and a good attack, but it is a bit hollow in the mid-section. Like many 2000s, it does not follow through on the palate. Tel. (707) 833-4134; Fax (707) 833-4200
