Tasting notes
An outstanding wine from a cooler, mountainous terroir in the southwestern portion of the valley, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder has lots of both red and black fruits as well as classic Mt. Veeder dried herbs, chocolate, and spicy, herbal notes. Medium to full-bodied, with ripe tannins, it’s well done and certainly has 10-15 years of prime drinking ahead of it.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Mt. Veeder (made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon) needs a fair bit of swirling to unlock notes of crushed black and red currants, boysenberries and black raspberries, leading to hints of bay leaves, crushed rocks and cedar chest. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers vibrant red and black fruit layers with a finely constructed backbone of grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and savory. (Tasted as a barrel sample.)
