Deep ruby-red. Intense, spice-accented aromas of black raspberry, cherry-cola and violet. Sappy, expansive dark berry flavors are complicated by notes of candied flowers and spicecake. At once rich and vibrant, finishing with excellent clarity and persistent sweetness.

The 2009 boasts gorgeous mid-palate pliancy and depth, not to mention fabulous overall balance. Kesner sources his fruit from the Petaluma Gap. The Pinot Noir is made with native yeasts and spends 16 months in French oak barrels, 30% new.
