Inky ruby. Primary yet detailed nose offers crushed blackberry, black cherry, licorice, bitter smoky minerals and flowers. Lush, elegant and surprisingly precise in the mouth, with impressive energy and thrust to the flavors of black fruit preserves and spices. Best today on the sharply focused, gripping, fruit-driven finish, which shows a strong cherry quality. This can be tasted now thanks to its intensity and sheer personality but is built for aging. Along with the bottling from Tablas Creek, this is the best version of the variety I've had outside Madiran.
