Score 89-91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2009

Good full, deep red. Cherry liqueur, red licorice, fresh herbs and menthol on the nose. Clenched and backward, with an austerity not shown by the preceding samples. The shy, medicinal flavors of black cherry and mint seem quite different from virtually every other 2007 in the cellar. A serious, tough wine in more of a New World style. This was purchased as wine.
