Medium red. Reticent nose suggests cherry, raspberry, minerals, spices and earth. Sweet and easygoing in the mouth, with red berry and floral flavors. Noteworthy more for its silky mouth feel than its early complexity. But this builds impressively in breadth and volume on the back half and finishes with very suave tannins and an absence of rough edges.

Cask sample. Very pure. Powerfully expressive. Quite oaky and very seductive. Quite bright fruit. Slightly dry finish. (JR)
