Tasting notes
Deep fruit tones of plum and cherry mingle with hints of smoked meats and spices, introducing Cheurlin's 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Fonteny, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming wine that's one of the more giving and immediate of the domaine's premiers crus. Built around powdery tannins, it concludes with a sapid finish.

The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Fontenys 1er Cru has a rich, opulent bouquet, perhaps just a little too flashy given the vineyard. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a little oaky at the moment. The slightly confit-like finish feels driven by the warmth of the growing season.
