Tasting notes
Full bottle 1,247 g. A portion aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels. Deep, healthy crimson. Pretty impressive nose with a little oak in evidence followed by sweet, silky fruit with excellent tannin management. Just very slight inkiness on the end but the balance is excellent. Mouth-filling fruit. (JR)

Full bottle an eco-friendly 1,210 g. Very smart new branding for the Dourthe no 1 range. This has a smart typographical front label and a translucent back label. Clear glass is attractive but does not protect the wine. Low-temperature fermentation. Three months maturing on the lees. Diam closure. A beautiful salmon pink, if colour is important. Lovely to have a Cab Franc rosé that is totally fresh, has plenty of bright, tangy red fruits and enough tannins to be poured at the table. Pure and not simple. Dry and gently chewy. Benchmark Bordeaux rosé with good length. (JH)
