Tasting notes
Also from the Santa Maria Valley, the 2017 Chardonnay Tinaquaic Vineyard (25% new French oak) offers a more toasty style in its buttered white currants, sautéed orchard fruits, honeysuckle, and toasted bread aromas and flavors. Rich, nicely concentrated, balanced, and with good acidity, it's going to benefit from a year or two of bottle age.

The 2017 Chardonnay Tinaquaic Vineyard Estate Grown - Dry Farmed is phenolic, savory and wonderfully nuanced, as it so often is. Sage, menthol, dried flowers and citrus confit all open up in the glass effortlessly. The 2017 finishes with substantial depth and resonance. It is another compelling wine in this range.
The 2017 Chardonnay Tinaquaic Vineyard opens with oaky notes of cedar and toast over hints of popcorn with quince, baked yellow apple and white apricot. The medium-bodied palate offers concentrated toasty fruits and a juicy finish.
