Score 95/100 · Drink 2022-2037, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2020

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon South Hill is dense and concentrated in the glass with a real sense of unctuous textural intensity to the fruit. Crème de cassis, menthol, licorice, spice and chocolate all meld together in the glass. A heady, flamboyant wine, the South Block has so much to offer, but it needs time to soften.

Score 89-92/100 · Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2018

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon South Hill is one the riper and more overt wines in this range. There is good depth to the black cherry fruit and chocolate flavors, but fewer of the layers found in most of these Cabernets. It will be interesting to see where the 2017 goes over the next year.
