Tasting notes
A blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 18% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc, the 2019 Elevage boasts scents of caramel, black cherries and even a hint of purple raspberries. Aged in 100% new French oak, it manages to avoid being overbearingly woody, with the concentrated fruit sufficient to stand up to the oak. Full-bodied and famed by softly dusty tannins from start to finish, it finishes long and mouthwatering. Approachable now, it should be consumed over the next decade or 15 years.

The 2019 Elevage, Chimney Rock's red blend, benefits from a healthy dollop of Merlot, which adds body, while Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc lend aromatic dimension. Dark cherry, rose petal, lavender, mint and spice all flesh out in a mid-weight, succulent wine that hits all the right notes. The 2019 is striking in its beauty and allure. This is an especially fine edition of the Elevage.
