Tasting notes
A blockbuster Rhône-styled blend of 43% Grenache, 40% Mourvedre, and 17% Syrah that comes all from estate vineyards, the 2010 L'Aventure La Suite is ultra ripe, with decadent aromas of overripe black cherries, tar, roasted herbs, and melted licorice that, for all of their intensity and ripeness, never seem over the top or cumbersome in any way. Full-bodied and thrillingly textured and voluptuous on the palate, with no hard edges, gorgeous purity, and solid length, it is a no holds barred Paso Robles blend that does everything right. Already approachable and delicious, I suspect it will drink well for 5-8 years, if not longer.

About the producer

L’Aventure is one of the leading wine estates in Paso Robles, California. It was founded by Stephan Asseo and his wife Beatrice who left their native France in 1997 in search of a place to make wine without the restrictions of France’s appellation system.
