Medium yellow. Spicy oak and nut oil dominate the reticent nose. Spicy and on the lean side, showing good energy and cut to the floral flavors. Comes across as a bit skinny, with the finish revealing a dry edge from spiky acidity. Just lacks a bit of mid-palate texture.

The 2011 Puligny-Montrachet is one of the more refined and laid back of the villages wines at Drouhin. It shows lovely textural depth and finesse if a little less overall persistence than the Chassagne. White peach, mint, flowers and spices all blossom on the finish.
Bright pale yellow with green highlights. Reticent, pure aromas of lemon, lime, white peach and white pepper. Juicy and brisk on the palate, with very good cut to the peach and pepper flavors. Bright, harmonious acidity gives this village wine lovely energy and back-end lift.

Joseph Drouhin is one of the largest and most famous producers in Burgundy, making both domaine and négociant wines. It remains family-owned and run, now in the hands of the fourth generation.
