Score 87/100 · Robert Parker, Oct 1997

Lionnet's top cuvee of Cornas, Rochepertuis, is aged in small barrels, of which a high percentage are new. The 1995 Rochepertuis exhibits a dark ruby color, plenty of wood in the nose, and hard, tannic, austere, acidic flavors. I am not sure it will ever open and blossom, but it is cleanly made, and I will give it the benefit of the doubt until it is in bottle. Last tasted 6/96. (No tasting note was provided in Issue 113. We have instead included the text of the tasting note from the 1997 Rhone Book)
