Looking first at the two whites, the 2019 Condrieu La Vieille Maison is totally brilliant stuff, the finest Condrieu I've tasted from this family estate. Awesome buttered citrus, nectarines, honeyed orange zest, white flowers, and a beautiful sense of minerality all emerge from the glass. This is followed by a full-bodied, pure, elegant Condrieu that's impeccably balanced, has a clean, crisp texture, and a great finish. It's pure class and up with the big guns in the appellation. Enjoy bottles over the coming 4-6 years.

100% Viognier. Aged for around 12 months in barrels (10% new) with bâtonnage. Barrel sample. Tasted blind. Spiced apples and pears with a honey nose. Nice bite and extract with a creamy vanilla-yoghurt note and attractive honeyed richness. Layered and well put together with a broad finish. (AC)
