Score 92/100 · Drink 2024-2034, Joaquin Hidalgo, Vinous, Nov 2022

The 2019 Malbec Alteza from the Cafayate Valley, Salta, spent 14 months in 225 and 160 liters French barrels. A vivid purple in the glass. The intriguing nose offers aromas of spice and fruit such as paprika, hints of red bell pepper, ash, fresh plum and a touch of sour cherry over a mild bed of oak. Juicy with sharp freshness for the region, the flow is channeled and the finish full of flavor. Sets a benchmark for the Calchaquí Valley.
