Tasting notes
Coming all from the Lewelling Vineyard, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon checks in as 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc, and the balance Merlot and Malbec, all aged in 70% new French oak. It has the classic ripe, sexy style of this vineyard as well as rocking notes of blackcurrants, mulberries, violets, and chocolate. It’s beautifully balanced, has sweet tannins, and is going to offer loads of pleasure over the coming 10-15 years.

Composed of 96% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Merlot and 1% Malbec, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet-purple in color with a slightly closed, broody nose of warm cassis and dusty soil giving way to notions of baked plums, blueberry preserves, Black Forest cake and tobacco leaf with a touch of bouquet garni. Medium to full-bodied, the palate reveals bold freshness lifting the black fruit preserves flavors with a firm, grainy frame, finishing with a lively herbal lift.
