Score 83/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Oct 2016

Earthy and herbal, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Bates Ranch has some texture and depth on the palate, but lacks purity and fruit. Again, I suspect these wines are being damaged by poor barrels and elevage.
