Score 90/100 · Drink 2016-2031, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Apr 2016

Showing lots of Syrah character in its crème de cassis, licorice, graphite and peppery smoked herbs, the 2013 Terrasses du Larzac Sapiens is medium-bodied, elegant and nicely balanced, with a more finesse driven style than the deeper, richer 2012. A blend of 70% Syrah, 20% Grenache and the rest Carignan, aged 18 months mostly in barrel, it has a modern sheen as well as the more focused, linear style of the vintage. It will be better this time next year and have 10-15 years of overall longevity.
