The 2003 Barolo Serralunga reveals fresh, expressive aromatics along with lovely suggestions of violets, tar, licorice and herbs. Medium in body, it nevertheless presents notable intensity and an accessible personality with plenty of Serralunga character. This is a strong effort at this level. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2013. Paolo Manzone is based in Serralunga. Even though Manzone has only been bottling his wines for a few years he has turned out two very successful 2003s.
