Pale lemon. Some lemon and apple-sherbet notes, then dried thyme and rosemary touches emerge to add complexity. On the palate, stones, apple fruit, some thyme lift, lemony acidity and a touch of chew. Plenty of length. Fine. (TJ)

Luminous and bright, the 2017 Fiano di Avellino offers a broad bouquet with highlights of pear, white peach and Golden Delicious apple. Like most wines from the blessed areas of Irpinia and Avellino in Campania, this wine also reveals pretty mineral notes that recall talc powder and crushed sea shell. Winemaking was executed in stainless steel only. Some 90,000 bottles were made.
