Pale yellow. Tight nose hints at lemon zest and saline oyster shell. Juicy, tactile, dry wine with pear and mineral flavors dominating. A touch of spice lifts the fruit. Fine-grained, firm and persistent, but this is essentially a supple, ripe village wine.

The 2015 Chablis Villages seemed to have improved since I tasted it last year. Here, it has a bright and breezy bouquet with chalky, limestone scents that unfold with enthusiasm from the glass. The palate is quite vibrant on the entry and does nothing to disguise its tropical tones that become a little too dominant on the finish. Yet it certainly has commercial appeal and should drink well for four to five years.
