Score 91+/100 · Drink 2019-2026, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2016
(aged for 21 months in French oak): Bright medium ruby. Blackberry, fresh herbs, licorice and bitter chocolate on the nose, leavened by a leafy cabernet element. Suave, spicy dark berry fruit conveys enticing sweetness without heaviness, with hints of bitter chocolate and herbs adding interest. Excellent lift and vinosity here. These tannins are a bit suppler than those of Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings. Finishes classically dry, with excellent thrust and length. This is more shy today than the Gran Cabernet Sauvignon.
