Tasting notes
Lurid ruby. Ripe cherry and black raspberry scents are complemented by hints of olive, woodsmoke and cracked pepper. Juicy and round on the palate, offering spice-accented bitter cherry and dark berry flavors and a touch of candied licorice. Supple tannins frame a long, smoky finish that leaves dark chocolate and cherry pit notes behind.

A smaller production effort that’s step up on the quality level, the 2015 Crozes-Hermitage Marcel offers lots of menthol, plum, incense and lavender notes that literally jump from the glass. It's ripe and sexy on the palate, with sweet tannin, and is an undeniably charming, pleasure-bent beauty to enjoy over the coming 7-8 years.
I was able to taste a single red. Silky and polished, with notes of black cherry, wild strawberries, peppery herbs and earth, the 2015 Crozes Hermitage Bio is medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated and has sweet tannin. Bottled without any added SO2, make sure it’s well stored and drink it over the coming year or so.
