Tasting notes
The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a beautifully delineated, nuanced wine laced with freshly cut flowers, spices, dark berries and licorice. All the elements come together beautifully in this gracious, classy and understated Riserva. Sweet notes from the oak linger on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2026. Medium ruby with broad orange-tinged rim. Very sweet and ripe with fruit-cake notes. Rich finish. Bold in its ripeness but doubtful if this will cellar well. (WS)
Aromas of ripe raspberries and strawberries follow through to a full body, with tangy ctirusy character and round silky tannins. Juicy and flavorful. Drink now or hold.
