Made with 3% co-fermented Viognier, the 2020 Syrah Stained Tooth is generous and expressive, featuring notes of flowers and herbs with a subtle notion of hot rocks. The palate is initially firm before slowly releasing its grip, revealing a balanced structure of succulent acidity with fine-grained tannins that linger through the food-friendly finish. A co-fermented blend of 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier, the 2020 Syrah Stained Tooth sports a medium ruby/plum color as well as great nose of ripe black raspberry and blueberry fruit, iron, peppery herbs, and bacon fat. It's medium to full-bodied, has lots of fruit, ripe tannins, and an outstanding finish.
Masses of violet florals, mineral-inflected black fruits and smoky earth tones waft up from the 2020 Syrah Stained Tooth. It's soft and enveloping yet also a bit one-dimensional, with citrus-kissed blackberries, giving way to a subtle coating of fine tannins. Smoky undertones come forward again through the finale as hints of bacon fat and currants fade.
