Lastly, the 2017 Syrah Judge Family Vineyard is a big success in the vintage and has a pure, flawlessly balanced, elegant style as well as classic notes of darker berry fruits, sweet spice, and crushed flowers. Mostly destemmed, it shows more pure fruit than some of the more gamey, exotic prior vintages, it’s full-bodied, has plenty of tannins, and a great finish. It should hit maturity with 4-5 years of bottle age and keep for 10-15 years.
