Tasting notes
The 2005 Barbaresco Bricco is one of the better wines I have tasted here in some time. An exciting array of wild cherries, licorice, tar and smoke flow from the glass as this masculine Barbaresco opens to reveal the full breadth of its personality. This part of Neive is known for yielding big, structured wines, qualities this Barbaresco has in spades. The wine continued to develop beautifully in the glass, suggesting it is holding back much of its ultimate potential at this early stage. This is an outstanding effort.
