Score 94/100 · Drink 2015-2022, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Aug 2013

Superb, the 2010 Beautiful Earth, a blend of 80% Syrah, 11% Mourvedre and 9% Grenache, has a touch more flesh than the Altas Vinas and shows a gorgeous bouquet of red and black berry fruit, licorice, sappy underbrush and mineral. Complex, fresh and elegant, with a full-bodied, rich texture, no hard edges, and solid mid-palate depth and concentration, it is approachable now due to the quality of the fruit, yet will be even better in 2-3 years. A drink window through 2022 seems reasonable. Drink 2015-2022. These 2010s and 2011s from McPrice are straight up fantastic. Very classy and pure, they all benefitted from substantial air time and deserve another year or two in the cellar. In addition to delivering rock-star quality, they also represent superb values. This is another Paso Robles producer who has consistently produced outstanding wines that remain more than reasonably priced given their quality. They merit serious attention! Tel. (80% syrah, 11% mourvedre and 9% grenache): Opaque purple. Complex scents of red and dark berries complemented by minerals, mint, anise and exotic spices. At once rich and focused, offering sweet raspberry and blackcurrant flavors, supple texture and strong mineral snap. This attractive sweet, precise blend finishes with strong cut and lingering notes of spices and flowers.
