Tasting notes
Bright ruby-red. Intense, heady aromas of raspberry preserves, cola and vanilla, with a spicy overtone. Fleshy, seamless and sweet, offering sappy red fruit flavors that become spicier with air. Shows very good energy and clarity on the lively finish, which leaves notes of vanilla bean and bitter cherry behind. Shows impressive vivacity for a wine from a ripe vintage. This vineyard is located in the Chehalem Mountains AVA.

The 2009 Pinot Noir Gemini Vineyard sports enticing scents of potpourri, cinnamon, clove, and red fruits. In the glass it opens to reveal considerable tannin that is unusual for this generally easy-going vintage. Another year or two of cellaring might bring about a better balance of structure and fruit, but that is a gamble. New father Jim Prosser is well-established in his winery on Parrot Hill in the Chehalem Mountains AVA. He is pleased by the fact that he was able to bring all of his 2009s in under 14% alcohol. Tel.
