Score 90/100 · Drink 2007-2015, Robert Parker, Aug 2006

The 2003 Syrah Monte Rosso exhibits scents of white chocolate, creme de cassis, crushed rocks, and flowers. Structured and medium to full-bodied, with deep fruit, impressive depth, and a backward style, it is the least accessible, but potentially most promising of this quartet. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2015. Tel. (707) 257-7555

Bright medium red. Initially quite oaky, but showed intriguing aromas of blackberry, gingerbread, bitter chocolate and menthol with aeration. Rich, round, sweet and mouthfilling. The sweet, rich finish shows a varietally accurate note of pepper.
