2005 Summerland Winery Syrah Bien Nacido Vineyard Block X

The backward 2005 Syrah Block X from the Bien Nacido Vineyard is the oakiest of all of these wines, but also the most structured, muscular, and tannic. It doesn’t have the charm of its siblings, shows plenty of depth, but is quite closed and restrained at present. Give this wine another year or so of bottle age and drink it over the following decade. All of these are elegant wines that display impeccable winemaking and a successful attempt to produce wines of good balance and charming personalities. No telephone number available.
