Drink 2015, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Oct 2015
Medium-deep garnet brick in color, the 2002 Shiraz Basket Pressed is a little musty but otherwise wonderfully meaty / savory with hints of salami, baked plums and blackberry preserves accented by spice box and leather. The rich and concentrated palate confirms a touch of TCA (corked) but otherwise it seems this would have been a real beaut.

Medium bright ruby. Blackberry and licorice on the nose. Lush, pliant and highly concentrated; at once fat and fresh. Sweet, layered flavors of blackberry and black pepper. Shows none of the greenness displayed by the cabernet. An impressively dense shiraz that finishes with sweet, broad tannins and lovely aromatic purity and length.
