(13.8% alcohol): Bright ruby-red. High-pitched scents of blackberry, black cherry, licorice and flowers, with a slightly raisiny quality emerging with air. Then plush and deep but juicy on the palate, technically dry but conveying an enticing sweetness. Less dark in its fruit character than the nose suggests, offering complicating notes of saline minerality, earth, olive, truffle and tobacco leaf. Finishes with suave tannins and very good length. Incidentally, this producer has changed its U.S. importer since my last report on Argentina and this bottling represents a slightly different blend of components than the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate I reported on last year.

2014 and 2015 have not been easy for Cabernet Sauvignon in Luján de Cuyo, but there's a 2015 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon that blends grapes from Agrelo and Perdriel that feels quite successful. The estate range sees an élevage of nine months in oak barrels, and this Cabernet shows a mixture of herbal, spicy and blackberry aromas with hints of cedar wood and cigar box. The palate is medium-bodied, with clean flavors and a fine texture. 48,000 bottles produced.

Good dark red. Subtle, varietally expressive aromas of plum, redcurrant, mocha and herbs, with a touch of floral lift. Suave, lively wine with moderate fleshiness and good inner-mouth floral lift to its redcurrant, plum and spice flavor. Relies more on its firm acid cut than on its tannins for structure.
