Score 92/100 · Drink 2006-2020, Pierre Rovani, Dec 2002

The 2001 Riesling Auslese Longuicher Maximiner Herrenberg A.P.#1402 (Gold Capsule) offers aromas reminiscent of freshly cut flowers, stones, and red berries. On the palate, this big, deep, dense wine has an exotic personality. Spices, poached pears, and hints of mangoes as well as papaya can be discerned throughout its character and lengthy finish. Projected maturity: 2006-2020. Importer: Terry Theise Estate Selections, imported by Michael Skurnik Wines, Inc., Syosset, NY; tel. (516) 677-9300
