The 2019 Chardonnay Oak Grove Vineyard is airy and savory in the glass, with crushed nectarines complicating hints of ginger and a sweet spiciness that comes forward over time. It's deeply textural, silky and supple, with a wave of white pit fruits swirling as hints of chamomile come forward. It finishes long, with a sense of richness, yet not cloying, as the 2019 tapers off with a pleasing, slowly fading hint of ground ginger.

Pale lemon in colour. A bit shy on the nose (it is quite cold) but incredibly complex. Deeply mineral with aromas of crushed limestone and mint. Lightly lactic, like ice-cold cream. A joyful whiff of rainbow sherbet without the sweetness. On the palate, this wine has high, broad acid. It's texturally rich while being well balanced at 13% alcohol. I wish this was blind – I'm fairly certain I'd stick it in Chablis. You can certainly hold this, but it's a joy to drink now. (SCJ)

The 2019 Chardonnay Oak Grove Vineyard has a unique personality that combines powerful exotic fruit with tangy energy and a shimmery saline quality, derived from a year's maturation in barrel and then stainless steel. Guava, peaches, lilac and beeswax aromas burst from the glass, and the textural palate, which continues to change and evolve as it spends time in the glass, demands your attention with its rich but precise fruit. This unabashedly hedonistic Chardonnay has the intensity and energy to age well, but that youthful, gregarious fruit is hard to resist!
