The deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Syrah Head Pruned Block (100% Syrah) comes bounding out of the glass like an energetic puppy, sporting loads of crushed blueberries and black raspberries notes with touches of violets, black pepper and black olives with a waft of fried herbs. Full-bodied and packing bags of pepper-laced black fruit preserves, it has a firm frame of rounded tannins and background freshness, finishing long. 212 cases produced.
